(11/11/2009)

However, according to recent research released by Defra, many of us don’t think we waste water. Indeed even when people do have some awareness that a behaviour is wasteful they have little connection to the impact of that wastefulness. In support of the Energy Saving Trust’s Energy Saving Week, which this year highlights our wast... [more]

Ofgem proposals on Green Tariffs are misleading says the Energy Saving Trust
(05/08/2008)

The Energy Saving Trust is not supporting Ofgem's expected proposals on Green Tariffs because: 1. They are misleading. Consumers presume that green means that the energy produced comes from a renewable source. A study commissioned by Ofgem shows that for most, 'green' in energy terms means the same thing as renewable energy. The study goes on to say that most expect all of the electricity included in the tariff to be from renewable sources. ... [more]

(31/07/2008)

A wide-ranging review of the passenger car market over the past four decades by the Energy Saving Trust has found that car buyers are making "poor choices, both economically and environmentally" when it comes to buying new cars - despite good incentives to choose low CO2 vehicles and a wider range of vehicle models available. And it points to a "market failure", citing "the current market structure, where more desirable cars within vehicle mod... [more]
