Waterwise supports Australia Savewater Alliance
Waterwise is supporting Australia's savewater! awards®. This year for the first time, through Waterwise’s partnership with Australia’s savewater! Alliance, product engineers from all over the world are invited to enter the 2009 national savewater! awards® in the Product Innovations Category.
The Product Innovations award rewards the development and commercialisation of innovative products that minimise water consumption – it is designed to recognise products that are leading the way in water saving initiatives.
‘It is excellent that the savewater!® Alliance has opened its doors to international products. There are many great water saving products in the UK and some have already received the Waterwise Marque – our endorsement programme for water efficient products. The UK is perceived as being very wet, however we have less water per person available then most of our northern European neighbours and we actually receive less rainfall on an annual basis than Sydney.’ Says Chris Philpot, Communications Manager, Waterwise.
In the UK Waterwise runs the Waterwise Marque scheme which recognises products which are water efficient or raise the awareness of water efficiency. Currently there are 50 products with the Waterwise Marque.
“Many new products are coming onto the market every year and these make a major contribution to Australia’s water savings. We know the United Kingdom has a lot of leading water saving product engineers and we want to recognise them said Mr Nigel Finney, CEO of the savewater!® Alliance.
