Panton McLeod Speak Zulu With Business Expansion
UK water quality engineering firm Panton McLeod has expanded with new headquarters in a bid to aid ambitious expansion plans in the UK water sector whilst paying tribute to its founder’s South African background.
The company which provide services to maintain the quality of drinking water throughout the country has grown with a new 10,000 sq ft headquarters unit, suitably named Amanzi House-the Zulu word for water.
Relocating to the Tweedbank Industrial Estate in Galashiels, the firm took the decision to expand into a larger industrial unit to aid increasing growth the firm is experiencing throughout the UK and has dedicated it to the company’s retired founder Jim R Panton who spent a large part of his life in South Africa.
His son, Jim W Panton, now Chief Executive at Panton McLeod said: “This a very exciting move for the company and one which will give us the resources to grow our range of services and hopefully allow us to undertake more projects with our clients throughout the UK.
“When my father founded the company in 1994 he built it from scratch but had a clear vision which gave it the drive to grow from strength to strength earning it the reputation as one of the most prominent names in the water industry. It really is an amazing achievement.
With Panton McLeod rapidly expanding their services which include; repair and refurbishment, robotic inspection, pipeline services as well as their traditional cleaning and disinfection of service reservoirs, the new premises provides additional space for new equipment and staff.
Jim adds: “The business has grown rapidly in recent years by increasing our client base and scale of services provided which has allowed us to expand our portfolio and in turn has put the company in a strong position within the UK water sector.
“Last year Panton McLeod landed its first partnership distribution deal in the U.S which was a major breakthrough. With all this activity the move was actually long overdue as we were operating at a level much higher than what the previous headquarters could offer.
“I’m confident that the new expansion will provide the opportunity for the company to adapt and grow its services and aid ambitious plans to expand and grow throughout both the UK and abroad.”
Panton McLeod has developed a range of services that has given the firm of the opportunity to offer integrated solutions to the challenges faced by water companies and their contractors including Severn Trent, United Utilities, Welsh Water & Scottish Water.
Panton McLeod is one of the UK’s leading experts in the water sector and offers a range of services including cleaning, disinfecting, inspecting and repairing drinking water storage structures for some of the UK’s biggest water companies.
